Sketchbook Friday!
Weekly Glimpses Into the World of My Sketchbook/Artist Books
Yes, yes, I know. Today is Sunday. I forgot! It was Halloween, and we were trick or treating! But here’s Sketchbook Friday, a couple of days late:
These are from around Spring-ish to Summer-ish 2006, so nearly 20 years ago! I’ve been a sketchbook fanatic since the early 90s, starting at age 7 or 8 (from what I remember).
The little leather pouch I sewed in above image contains the key to the house I rented when Hurricane Katrina smashed into New Orleans in 2005.
I didn’t need it anymore because the search and rescue teams cut off my doorknob to search for dead bodies after the storm.
I never saw or heard from my landlord again.
The two above images are just some of my drawings from school around this time. I was an undergraduate student at Tulane University.
