Top Secret Diary Comics!
I've long drawn these wine bottle and wine glass people, but in this sketchbook I sometimes gave them faces of myself and others.
I created this sketchbook from a cracker box covered in hand screenprinted fabrics with a reverse appliquéd letter-press printed message. The text was printed as part of a protest banner workshop Blake and I hosted many years ago at the former Catapult Press. I coordinated Catapult Press, and entreprenurial educational letterpress studio, as a part of my job for 8 years.
There’s a lot of email harassment pictured in here, and many other dark topics. The sketchbook is from last Fall, and I’ve been struggling a lot in recent years. As last week’s edition of my web comic Bat Shit! talked about, sometimes the process of healing can cause more pain.
At least for a while.
I think I’m seeing now that there will be light on the other side.
But in the meantime, I’ll keep sketching armies of emails carrying my dead body to the grave.
